A 45,000-square-foot, five-story addition to the existing classroom building with extensive structural modifications made to the existing portion of the facility.

Nashville State Multi-Purpose Building

A three-story building that includes a theater with a working fly loft and retractable seating, a black box theater, music suites, art galleries, and classrooms.

Belmont University Dorms Thrailkill, Kennedy, and Dickens

Multiple projects consisting of multi-level, post-tension, two-way, concrete flat plates and parking garages.

MTSU Student Union

A new, three-story, 197,000-square-foot, concrete structure designed to house a student grille, ballroom and meeting space, bookstore, video theater, student government areas, and administrative offices serving 20,000 students.

Lipscomb University Bible Building

A new, 70,000-square-foot, three-story classroom building.

Lipscomb Nursing and Health Sciences Center

The 24,000-square-foot, three-story nursing building houses classrooms, faculty offices, study space, and clinical labs for nursing and pharmacy students.

TSU Agricultural Biotechnology Facility

A 25,000-square-foot, steel-framed, two-story structure with a partial basement housing more than 12 state-of-the-art labs for cutting-edge research, including DNA synthesis and chromatography analysis. The building also houses and supports primarily agricultural research, and provides working space for more than 20 new Ph.D.-level scientists as well as administrative offices.

Vanderbilt University Student Recreation Center Expansion and Indoor Practice Facility

A 100-yard football practice field with an NCAA track and field venue, a new gymnasium, bowling alley, multi-purpose rooms, and workout space.

Meharry Medical College Turner Family Center

A new, steel-framed structure housing a ballroom, auditorium, cafeteria, and administrative offices.

Lipscomb Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center

The 15,000-square-foot facility is located on the north end of campus along with the Nursing and Health Sciences Center and the James D. Hughes Center, structurally designed by EMC as well.

Lipscomb Fields Engineering Center

The 26,800-square-foot Fields Engineering Center houses collaborative learning spaces, flexible teaching areas, and labs among other features. The Fields Engineering Center is named for longtime ExxonMobil executive Charles Fields and his wife Margaret.

Lipscomb James D. Hughes Center

The new, 25,300-square-foot, three-story Hughes Center is the new home of Lipscomb’s Department of Art in the College of Arts and Sciences. It is surrounded by the new science and engineering buildings, also structurally designed by EMC.

It provides housing for 340 sophomores, juniors, and seniors. It includes apartments for a faculty member and a residential area coordinator, a large dining space, a new kitchen, and additional space for academic and programming needs.

Vanderbilt School of Nursing

2021 AIA Tennessee Design Award 2020 AIA Middle Tennessee Design Award winner (Merit) Featured in Education Snapshots and ArchDaily A new, 29,947-square-foot addition connecting to its existing buildings on the Vanderbilt campus. The five-floor structure houses technologically-advanced classrooms, conference and seminar rooms, student services offices, faculty offices and a state-of-the-art simulation teaching lab that allows complex skills development and real-time feedback on students’ clinical nursing skills. The building’s virtual classroom incorporates leading-edge online and distance technology to facilitate distance learning, and its interactive classroom facilitates large- and small-group interactions with electronic methods that allow for sharing of group data and findings.

Vanderbilt Residential Colleges: Carmichael, Rothschild, E. Bronson Ingram, and Nicholas S. Zeppos

2025 Illuminating Engineering Society Merit Award - Carmichael and Rothschild Residential Colleges 2024 Brick in Architecture Award - Rothschild College Four, new residential colleges: Carmichael, Rothschild, E. Bronson Ingram, and Nicholas S. Zeppos Carmichael College is a new, $110-million, 160,000-square-foot residential college. The project consists of a multi-level concrete frame with a steel roof. Rothschild College is a new, $115-million, 186,000-square-foot residential college. The project consists of a multi-level concrete frame with a steel roof. E. Bronson Ingram College is a new, 230,400-square-foot, 210-room residential college. The project consists of the design of conventional reinforced concrete slabs and concrete sheer walls. The roof is steel formed. Approximate project budget: $90 million. Nicholas S. Zeppos College is a new, $130-million, 232,000-square-foot residential college. The project consists of a multi-level concrete frame with a steel roof. Nicholas S. Zeppos College is a gothic-style, 20-story, 340-room dormitory at the corner of West End Avenue and 25th Avenue South and is one of the tallest buildings on Vanderbilt's campus. West End Tower is a 20-story signature campus tower is also included in the project.

Motlow State Robotics Building

The new, state-of-the-art automation and robotics training center is a one-story building of approximately 12,400 square feet and is steel framed with braced frames. The structure is primarily high-bay rooms for robotic training with a viewing mezzanine.

Lipscomb University Bison Hall

A new, 55,000 square foot, four-story dormitory. Construction is post-tension concrete flat plate with brick veneer and gabled roof.

A new, steel-framed, one-story building of approximately 44,000 square feet.

George Shinn Center - Lipscomb University

A new, two-story building of approximately 30,000 square feet. The building consists of an event space on the second floor and classrooms/art studios on the first floor. The structure is steel framed, elevated composite slabs with steel beams, and long-span roof trusses over the event space.

Tennessee State University

Two, new dorm buildings (each approximately 100,000 square feet) and renovation to existing buildings as well. The new spaces provide additional dining options, laundry facilities, fitness room, study rooms, computer lab, gaming area, convenience store, a 200-person event space, and the campus housing administrative offices and housing office.
