Nashville Fire Stations 11, 21, 33, 35, 37

Projects consisted of the design of new replacement fire stations at multiple locations for the city of Nashville. These structures are both one and two stories. Load-bearing CMU walls supporting hollow-core precast planks with wood roof trusses was the typical framing system.

Franklin Police Station

A new, three-story police headquarters that includes a 911 call center and parking garage. The building is approximately 95,000 square feet and is constructed with post-tensioned concrete beams and slabs.

Murfreesboro Police Station

Project consists of the renovation of an existing medical office building into a new police station. The renovation required the structure to be upgraded to meet current wind and seismic requirements. This project also includes a firing range for ballistic testing.

Myatt Drive Police Station and Crime Lab

This project consists of the renovation of an existing structural pre-engineered metal building into a police station and crime lab. The design includes structural upgrades to meet current seismic and wind loading requirements for an essential facility. A 40,000-square-foot, composite steel mezzanine was constructed within the existing building. This project also includes a firing range for ballistic testing.

Midtown Police Station

A new, 14,500-square-foot, steel-framed police precinct. The structure is framed with steel joists and utilized steel “x” bracing for resistance to lateral loads. The building was designed as an essential facility.

Port Royal Fire Station

A new, one-story, three-bay facility. The apparatus bay was constructed of load-bearing CMU. Conventional wood-framing was used for the living quarters. The roof was constructed with long-span roof trusses.

Metro Nashville Police Headquarters and Family Justice Center

2021 USGBC Tennessee Community Champion Award. Family Justice Center AIA Middle Tennessee 2020 Design Award winner (Citation). ABC Greater Tennessee 2020 Excellence in Construction Merit Award. Recipient of 2019 AIA Tennessee Merit Award and 2018 AIA Honor Award. The three-story, 61,000-square-foot administrative headquarters will serve as the face for the Metro Nashville Police Department. The Family Justice Center will be 44,000 square feet and two stories tall.

Sumner County EOC

A new 9,000-square-foot emergency operations center designed to resist EF5 tornado winds loads per FEMA 361.

Brentwood Police Department

A new, two-story, steel building of approximately 56,000 square feet. This building accommodates the police departments, training, investigative labs, and operations as well as a 911 center. A public municipal courtroom (approximately 2,200 sf) is also in the building.
